About

Know the job before you commit to it. A job title tells you where you'll end up, but not how to get there or what the days actually look like. ProfessionInfo exists to fill in that missing picture. We break each career down into the things that matter most: The skills you'll need to succeed The path to get there, from education to entry-level roles to advancement The reality of a typical day on the job No vague descriptions and no sugarcoated recruiting language. Just clear, practical information you can use to make real decisions. Advice from people who've done the work The most useful career insight rarely comes from a brochure or a job listing. It comes from professionals who live the work every day. That's why ProfessionInfo is built around honest, user-submitted career reviews, shared by people in the field about what they love, what they'd change, and what they wish they'd known sooner. Who we're for Whether you're choosing a major, starting your first job, or thinking about a complete change of direction, we're here to help you choose with confidence instead of guesswork. ProfessionInfo: real career insight from the people who know it best.

Community Standards

These standards guide what we accept in user-submitted career reviews. Submissions that violate them may be held for review or removed.

  1. Authenticity & Relevance
    • Must relate to real job/career experience (not a general rant unrelated to the profession)
    • No fake, satirical, or clearly fabricated accounts
    • No reviews written by competitors, recruiters posing as employees, or bots
  2. Personal Identifiable Information (PII)
    • No full names of coworkers, managers, or specific individuals
    • No personal contact info (phone, email, home address)
    • No identifying details that could out a specific employee (e.g., "the only left-handed VP at [tiny company]")
  3. Defamation & Legal Risk
    • No unverified accusations of specific crimes (fraud, harassment, assault) — allow general complaints ("toxic management") but flag specific criminal allegations for review
    • No claims that could constitute defamation of a named, identifiable person
    • Distinguish opinion ("I felt undervalued") from factual claims ("my boss stole money") — the latter needs stronger scrutiny
  4. Hate Speech & Harassment
    • No slurs, discriminatory language, or attacks based on race, gender, religion, disability, sexual orientation, etc.
    • No harassment or targeted attacks on individuals
  5. Spam & Promotional Content
    • No links to external websites, competitor job boards, or affiliate content
    • No repeated/duplicate submissions
    • No obvious advertising disguised as a review
  6. Confidentiality & Trade Secrets
    • No leaked confidential business information (financials, unreleased products, trade secrets)
    • No copied text from internal company documents
  7. Explicit or Graphic Content
    • No sexual content, graphic violence, or descriptions of self-harm
    • No content promoting illegal activity
  8. Minimum Quality Bar
    • Some minimum length/substance (avoid single-word or gibberish submissions) — but per your policy, don't edit for grammar/tone since that's part of the authenticity
    • Should express something evaluative about the profession/role (not just "hi" or test posts)
  9. Off-Topic Content
    • No political endorsements unrelated to the profession
    • No personal disputes unrelated to the job itself
